If ever there was a year to hold a Winterfest Activity Day, it would certainly be this year! Thank you to Ms. Wright who has organized this opportunity for our students on Thursday, March 6. What’s happening for students on this day? Students will cycle through a number of different activities, including: road hockey games, snow shoeing, snow soccer-baseball, drum fit, an art activity, just dance, frisbee golf and pancakes. Thank you to our Parent Council for purchasing the pancakes and syrup for the day.
Grade 7 and 8 students will act as leaders in their groups. Aside from having fun, one of the goals of the day is to build school community for our students from grade 4 through to grade 8. We know our intermediate students will be fantastic leaders, and we know that participation will be fantastic by all of our students.
If any of our parents are interested in helping out on this day, please give Ms. Whitelaw (our head secretary) a call at the school at 705-277-9515. A few helping hands on days such as this make a huge difference. Volunteers will need an up to date police and vulnerable sector check.
As always, please check the weather on this day and have your child dress appropriately. Several of the activities are outside, so warm winter clothing will be important. It’s never a bad idea to dress in layers and bring extra clothing that day.
Let’s hope that the weather does not warm up between now and March 6!
