Thank you to Ms. Nelles and her MAD Crew (Making A Difference) for organizing a Kindness Community Day this Wednesday, October 15. The purpose of this day is all about building community in our school. Students have been organized into groups (each group consists of students from all grades). They will be participating in activities such as creating a heart mural, participating in a kindness lesson, and movement activities (such as capture the flag and obstacle courses). While the mix of activities should offer something of interest to every student, the real purpose of the day is for students to build connections with another and learn the skill of working together. MAD Crew members will be running each of these stations with a staff member supporting. Grade 8 students not in the MAD Crew will be leading one of the 14 groups of students. With almost 330 students in our school this year, we will have more student groups than we have had in a long time!
The weather looks to be cooler on Wednesday, so students will want to dress in layers. Many of the activities take place outside, and this is an entire day event.
