Thank you to Ms. Audet who will be hosting a Mass Band Day at RHPS on Monday, May 6. Begun by Mr. Randy Read (a Music teacher for many years in the TLDSB) in 2005 (I was still teaching at RHPS at that time, so a loooooong time ago!), it was a day to celebrate instrumental music in schools within our school board. 5 schools will be participating in this day-long event being held at RHPS. Each school will perform their own pieces and will work together (as one large band) on 2 further pieces. In total, there will be roughly 100 students participating. Ms. Audet is also hoping that there will be special guests who will perform for the participating students.
Monday, May 6 is also “Music Monday” – a day to celebrate music across Canada.
Thank you to Ms. Audet for organizing (she was the driving force behind the day) and her continued passion towards music!
