Jersey Day – November 29

Friday, November 29 is a fun spirit day throughout the entire TLDSB.  The TLDSB is encouraging students and staff to wear their own jersey, their favourite team’s jersey, or simply your favourite shirt or sweater on this day!  Why Jersey Day?  The TLDSB is encouraging students and staff to wear their favourite shirt and donate a toonie on this day towards the TLDSB’s Feed All Four Fund.

The Feed All Four Fund is accessed by schools to support families in need.  ALL of the funds raised and deposited in the Feed All Four Fund are used to support TLDSB families.  No one other than a very few school and TLDSB central office staff, along with the family, are involved in the funds being accessed.  These funds can make a tremendous difference for a family in need.  Simply bring a toonie (or any donation you wish to make) to school and give to your homeroom teacher.  All monies collected and forwarded to the TLDSB’s Feed All Four Fund.  This is a voluntary donation and only for those who are able to do so; please do not feel obligated to donate if your family is unable to do so.

Show your school, along with your team’s or your own, spirit on Friday, November 29!  To be honest, it is a bit of a challenging day for me.  More than a few students would be able to tell you my favourite NHL team (Go Leafs) or NFL team (Go Cowboys!), but my favourite college football team is Clemson (I love the colour orange), and I am also an F1 fan – so picking the favourite shirt to wear is not easy on this day!  All that being said, you will most likely see me wearing my daughter’s hockey goalie jersey as there is more than a little father’s pride and wonderful memories of watching my daughter play while she was in school contained in that jersey.
