Huntsville High School (HHS) teacher, Ian McTavish, is a recipient of the 2024 Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence Certificate of Achievement!
McTavish is a Grade 9 to 12 robotics, computer science, and technology design teacher who has been with Trillium Lakelands District School Board for 27 years. He was nominated for his work with the school’s computer science program and robotics team, and for always providing a welcoming space where students with a range of strengths and learning differences can find their niche and excel.
The Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence have honoured exceptional elementary and secondary school teachers in all disciplines since 1994 for their remarkable achievements in education and for their commitment to preparing their students for a digital and innovation-based economy.
